Thanks for all your support. As of October 2010 we have decided not to pursue IVF and instead are looking ahead to being a family with eachother and our blessed furbabies!
Sadly, due to a death in the family, we are now moving our IVF dream to Spring 2011.
For over 7 years my husband and I have been trying to conceive our first baby blessing. After many disappointments we went to seek help from a fertility doctor to only learn that there was indeed a reason for the lack of pregnancy. Male Factor Infertility. My husband's sperm are there, they are just not swimming. The dr was concerned that even though we had not used birth control after we got married that we hadn't had a single pregnancy. He suggested that we try Assisted Reproductive Technology. Back then we were not ready for such a drastic step and continued to try with the help of vitamins, healthy diets and exercise.
Upon further investigations we have since learned that IVF will be the best option for us and our diagnosis. Having just turned 40, as I am sure you will be aware, time is not on our side and we find ourselves in a race against time to have our baby and soon!
In Vitro Fertilization is not cheap and sadly it is not covered by insurance or the Health Care System, so this all needs to be paid out of pocket. We know that we are living in hard economic times and understand why you may ask why should we be asking for help?
For us to have the blessing of a baby is priceless but sadly when fertility is not on one's side the issue becomes financial.
